What to watch

Hopefully not a pattern. Let me explain.

Earlier this season, the Pacers came in to DC and Paul George and CJ Miles promptly set a bonfire of 3’s, scorching the Wizards in it with a 123-105 win.

In game 2 of the season series, the Wizards visited the Pacers in Indiana and John Wall and Bradley fulfilled a bit of vengeance, combining for 50 points on 21-36 shooting. Wall also finished with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. The Wizards won that game 118-104.

Tonight, the two teams face each other for a third and final time in DC. Both teams are playing in the second game of a back-to-back. Both teams are coming off a loss. Both teams have beat each other on the other team’s home floor. Can the Wizards break this pattern?

Key Matchup

All-Star vs. All-Star

Nothing like a game studded with stars. Or maybe just two stars trying to outlast one another. Paul George torched the Wizards back in November for 40 points, hitting 7-8 from 3. Wall wasn’t that mean in Indiana, but his 28-8-7 was the complete game the Wizards needed from him to win decisively.

Understanding the stakes.

From last night’s recap:

“The Wizards are at a supremely critical stage of their 2015-16 campaign. With their 61st game of the season now complete, 21 more still remain as they sit just a game and a half short of the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. A win last night, combined with Indiana’s loss to Charlotte, would have all but completely pulled the Wizards out of the slow-moving quicksand of playoff elimination. Instead, the gripping pull of the quicksand, metaphorical to a 25-point thrashing by way of a balanced Cleveland attack, left the Wizards sinking right back to where they were.”

With Indy’s loss last night, the stakes for tonight remain the same: a Wizards win will draw them to within a half game of the final playoff spot. LEGGO?

Fun Factor:

Is somebody sleeping in George “Sisqo” Hill’s bed?

Kevin Love takes his beauty rest. John Wall takes it personal. The Wizards take the lane from Lebron; take the game from the Cavs.
