The Wizards opened up their preseason on Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets, a 111-106 overtime loss in what was a turnover infested match (48 combined) as both teams looked to shake off the summer cobwebs. A resilient 4th quarter effort by the Wizards resulted in a comeback that forced extra minutes, thanks to a buzzer-beating putback slam by Glen Rice, Jr. The Nets would ultimately outlast the Wizards in overtime. Following the game, coach Randy Wittman, Bradley Beal, and John Wall spoke to the media about their shortcomings, positive takebacks, as well as their impending journey to Brazil, where they are now.
"This team is not going to get over the top if they don't take care of the ball better." — Randy Wittman
"With me and Brad it's kinda easy. I know exactly where he's going to be in fast breaks and half court sets." — John Wall
"Nah I'm more of a Spanish guy." — Bradley Beal on whether Nene has taught him any Portueguese for Brazil trip
