What to watch

The new-look Bulls and the new-look…Wizards?

The Bulls conducted a massive overhaul of their roster this past summer, setting free their hometown child and MVP Derrick Rose to the Knicks and ridding themselves of Joakim Noah, who joined Rose in New York, the very week. The Bulls replaced their hometown child with a hometown OG, acquiring Dwyane Wade from the Miami Heat. Rajon Rondo, Robin Lopez, Michael Carter-Williams, and inbound rookie Denzel (I swear to God I started to type “Wash..”) Valentine are also new faces on the squad.

As for the Wizards, their starting 5 wasn’t meant to be an unfamiliar one tonight. But with John Wall following his rehab protocol – at least I hope that’s what it is – and resting on the second night of a back-to-back, along with #BubbleWrapBrad back in midseason form nursing a bad hamstring, the Wizards will be taking the floor without their two stars. It is presumed/hoped that Tomas Satoranksy will start in his second game this season.

Key Matchup

Bad 3-point shooting vs. worse 3-point shooting.

Chicago vs. Washington. Now it’s not that the Bulls are necessarily bad at 3-point shooting (.357 is OKAY), it’s just that barely attempt any (5th worst 22 attempts per game), thusly not making enough per game (a 6th worst 8 per game).

On the other side not only do the Wizards suck in 3-point percentage (a league-worst .310), they attempt and make the least amount of 3-point shots per game in the entire league.

Hopefully all these factors cancel out somehow in favor of the Wizards.

Dywane Wade

At this age, and at this stage of his career, we absolutely don’t know what we’re going to get out of Dywane Wade. This is how much of his final few seasons in Miami went. Whether it was something nagging with his body, or he just wasn’t fully immersed in the game, Wade’s production was very elusive. In Chicago, we can expect much of the same, including tonight.

Fun Factor:

Always fun remembering the 2014 playoffs.

Always not fun how things may have changed. Bulls win tonight.
